DPD Distribution Depot Lincoln
Client: Quantum Construction
With the brief, to deliver an area sorting and distribution depot for logistics company DPD, our team were employed early in the design stage to work closely with the client’s design team. Detailed electrical design drawings, lighting and circuit calculations, and product samples were all submitted for client comment and approval.
Utilising energy efficient controls and LED technology, internal and external lighting schemes were developed. To meet the client’s strict specification and energy efficiency requirements the lighting system was designed so that each individual light fitting in the warehouse can dim independently, dependent upon the level of ambient light. This approach was extended to the office areas, with the window rows also self-dimming, delivering energy savings across the site.
Occupancy controls were widely adopted, enabling fully automatic control of the internal lighting.
Metering systems were installed to enable the end user to review and monitor the energy usage across the site, including the supplies to the sorting plant and conveyor systems.
The project was delivered on time to the client’s satisfaction.
